Thamer AlSalem

Thamer is a PhD student in the technology track at the Weitzman School of Design at the University of Pennsylvania, and is affiliated with both the Thermal Architecture Lab (TAL) and the Center for Environmental Building + Design (CEBD). He also served as a RA at the Polyhedral Structures Lab (PSL), participating in the publication of a paper in the Journal for International Shell and Spatial Structures (ISSS). Thamer holds a Master of Science in Design with a concentration in Environmental Building Design (MSD-EBD) from Penn, and a Bachelor of Architecture with a minor in Residential Construction Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He is also a Certified Passive House Consultant with the Passive House Institute of the United States (PHIUS), and a LEED Green Associate with the USGBS. Currently on scholarship from the Department of Architecture at Kuwait University to pursue a PhD in Building Technology, Thamer is interested in high performance building design in climates of extreme heat.
